Clandestine Brewing Lucifer’s Casket Scotch Ale

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday Fun Day! Jack from The Intoxicated Review writing today about a great brand new beer from the brewers at Clandestine Brewing out of San Jose, California. Clandestine Brewing just celebrated their two year anniversary at their new location is San Jose and to celebrate, they released their annual strong ales. Today’s beer selection comes from that annual release and is called Lucifer’s Casket. Lucifer’s Casket is a Scotch Ale and I’m really excited to tell you all about it! Here’s the review.

BREWERY:

Clandestine Brewing

APV:

9.3%

THE POUR:

This Wee Heavy pours with a dark brown color and has a healthy head that forms at about an inch. The head will settle and quickly disappear entirely.

THE AROMA:

This brew has a sweet and malty aroma to it. Also present in this beer’s aromas are some spices and what smells like caramel.

THE FLAVOR:

This beer is incredibly smooth and full-flavored. Up front this beer has a sweet and malty flavor. I can taste the spices and caramel as well. On the back end the beer has a smooth finish with a lingering sweet and caramel flavor. The beer was aged six months to mellow the alcohol notes that can accompany a Scotch Ale.

THE BODY:

Well, as you might expect…this Scotch Ale is full-bodied. It is easy to drink, but it is a bit heavy. I rate the body at medium heavy, but more towards the heavy end.

OVERALL:

Friends, this is a delicious beer! I am a big fan and I highly recommend this beer, but get in there and get a sample before it’s gone!

Well friends, that’s all the time I have for today, but thank you for reading as always and see you again soon!
